Plusieurs dizaines de partisans de l’Initiative de Résurgence du mouvement Abolitionniste (IRA)ont tenu jeudi un sit-in de protestation devant le ministère de la justice à Nouakchott pour exiger la libération de militants détenus depuis une dizaine de jours,
Ces individus portaient des banderoles et des pancartes réclamant l’arrêt des poursuites contre Limam Brahim, Aliou Sow et Salim Falll. Ces militants anti-esclavagistes, signale-t-on, ont été arrêtés fin octobre suite à des affrontements entre des partisans de l’IRA et des individus favorables à l’Imam de la plus grande mosquée de Nouakchott.
Au sujet de la détention de ses militants l’IRA dénonce une mesure «discriminatoire et une politique de 2 poids, 2 mesures garantissant l’impunité aux esclavagistes ».
