En 2017, le parti d’opposition mauritanien RFD a accusé le régime en place de couvrir la société chinoise de pêche "Poly Hondong Pelagic Fishe" de spolier et détruire les ressources halieutiques du pays et de faciliter ainsi une concurrence déloyale aux pêcheurs traditionnels.
Pour le parti d’Ahmed Ould Daddah, les autorités mauritaniennes ont aussi manqué à leur promesse de régler les insuffisances dans la chaîne de froid de la filière pêche artisanale.
Ce reportage, réalisé par François Reinhardt et François Cauwel donne la parole aux pêcheurs traditionnels et aux entrepreneurs chinois et nous laisse comprendre comment l’Europe a été largement supplantée par les entreprises asiatiques au cours des dernières années.
