La Chine va contribuer au financement du projet d’assainissement de la ville de Nouakchott grâce à deux conventions de crédit d’un montant global de 10 milliards d’ouguiyas (soit 3,3 millions de dollars américains), annonce vendredi le gouvernement mauritanien.
Ces ressources vont prendre en charge "le financement partiel des travaux du réseau d’évacuation des eaux pluviales dans les zones basses de la ville de Nouakchott", selon un communiqué du gouvernement.
La plus grande partie de la capitale mauritanienne est construite en dessous du niveau de la mer, avec une absence des canaux d’évacuation.
Plusieurs quartiers deviennent impropres à l’habitation à cause des inondations pendant l’hivernage.
