Seize milles enfants mauritaniens sont frappés d'une malnutrition aiguë apprend-on sur la page facebook de cette organisation enMauritanie.
Parmi ces enfants, l'image d'un petit garçon de 22 mois, Abou(Photo), "admis et traité"contre la malnutrition aiguë est utilisée pour une mobilisation en faveur des enfants malnutris dans le pays.
Le PAM avait alerté en 2014 sur les risques liés à la malnutrition ou la faim dans le pays, suite à une enquête post-récole où 635.000 personnes avaient été ciblées comme encourant ces risques.
Notons encore que le dispositif régional de veille au Sahel avait alerté en juin dernier sur la situation alimentaire et nutritionnelle en Mauritanie caractérisée par une hausse des prix de plus de 30% des céréales et une diminution résiduelle des pâturage dans le pays.
