LesEtats-Unis ont mené lundi des frappes contre le groupe Etat islamique (EI) dans son bastion deSyrte, en Libye, a confirmé le Pentagone en précisant que ces raids avaient été conduits à la demande du gouvernement libyen.
"A la demande du gouvernement d'union nationale (GNA) libyen, les forces armées des Etats-Unis ont conduit des frappes précises contre des cibles de l'EI à Syrte en Libye", a indiqué dans un communiqué le porte-parole du Pentagone Peter Cook, quelques minutes après que le chef du GNA, Fayez al-Sarraj, eut annoncé ces raids à la télévision en précisant qu'ils avaient "infligé de lourdes pertes" aux jihadistes.
